A man would prove themself in time. He’d need to earn it in her mind. The boy they were would prove to show all that she knew his heart would glow. Something stowed was left unquelled—those unheard tales that he’d not tell. She’d not a care for what they were as long as he could still be hers. She wanted them how they’d want most. If choice was hers she’d hold them close. No matter what had come and gone—the things he’d used to quell her song. All he thought would break her glee were fears that she would soon cut free. She’d not let go of what was true—his gleaming heart beneath such blue.
