Rebuilt From Heart
a poem
A bleeding heart for all to see
apparently what I’m to be
something there I cannot flee
which very deeply calls to me
by showing every bit of heart
and giving this goal all I’ve got
I feel the chance to make it seen
who we are, what we can be
felt so deep, how we connect
all of us when soul’s intact
a family from deep in the stars
coming here to lead our charge
change the way this planet’s been
a gift of chance to start again
learn from scratch that which we’re not
by trying all, becoming fraught
with the pain we did create
unaware we lead our fate
finally the chance to glow
to rebuild here without control
letting our hearts lead the way
its going to hurt—it doesn’t pay
not in gold or worldly things
but beyond it’s everything
to find this we must fall apart
rebuild it all from the heart
how long this takes I cannot say
but I see it clear—clear as day
