the time had come, two roads ahead
this baggage carried, why she bled
to lay it down and be set free
or bare the load to damn her glee
the choice itself she could not make
it was too much for her to take
‘can’t it be both?’ her mind did plead
a prayer for help that one concede
unsure of truth, so lost and blind
to trust her heart, not thought or mind
it led her on the right-most path
perhaps to freedom, wouldn’t ask
to find herself with a pack
her lightened load, an able back
trusting now along the road
the many things she did not know
her heart knew best what she did seek
to learn the lesson and get some sleep
