Why She Bled
a poem
She’d be too free of heart not to feel. She’d be too free of judgment not to stand in witness. She’d be too free of fear to hide herself. She’d be too free in voice to go unheard. She would show them what they wanted. She would prove them to love. She wouldn’t be the answer for their superficial problems. She would be discarded not because she’d ask too much—she asked the least. She would be discarded for how they would want to keep her if they’d not.
